Mathematics

Mathematics, the basis for most other scientific and technical endeavors, is one of the main subjects in the Library’s collection. The history and philosophy of mathematics are extensively covered in the Library. The theory of probability, geometry, algebra, set theory, analysis, combinatorics, and topology are examples of branches of mathematics that are emphasized. In computer science, the Library collects materials that deal with the mathematical basis and underlying theories of computers. This includes materials on computer architecture, the foundations of various operating systems, and the theoretical principles of programming.
