The March 10 lecture
The Linda Hall Library is one of 85 Patent and Trademark Resources Centers (PTRC) designated by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (and the only PTRC in Kansas City). Michelle Lahey, the Library’s Public Services Manager and PTRC Representative, will give an overview of intellectual property, explaining the differences between copyright, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. She will also cover what services are offered by the Library and how you can access them.
About the speaker
In her 15 years at the Linda Hall Library, Michelle Lahey, currently Public Services Manager, has served in a variety of positions in reference and collection development. She was previously Library Manager at MRIGlobal and worked as a librarian at Bayer and St. Luke’s Hospital. She is active in local library networks and has spoken at numerous national library conferences. She earned an MLS from Emporia State University and a BA in History from William Jewell College. A native of the Kansas City area and an avid Royals fan, she is looking forward to baseball season and Daniel Mack’s lecture next month.
The event is free and open to the public; however, e-tickets are required.
Parking is free in Library parking lots and along the west side of Holmes Street between 51st and 52nd streets. The main entrance to the Library grounds is on Cherry Street. The Linda Hall Library is not affiliated with UMKC. Parking in all UMKC lots is by permit or meter.
