Second Saturday Conversation: DIY Solar Filters

The exhibition galleries and the William N. Deramus III Cosmology Theater will be open 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12. Free admission and parking. Reference, research, and circulation services are not available on Second Saturdays.
About the workshop
David Young and Joseph Wright from the Astronomical Society of Kansas City will lead a workshop on how to build your own solar filters for cameras, binoculars, or telescopes. The Library will supply all other necessary material, including solar safety film.
The workshops will be held in two half-hour sessions. Space is limited to 25 participants per session.
We have reached our seating capacity for this event. We also are no long taking wait list registrations.
Session 1: 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Session 2: 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Parking is free in Library parking lots. The main entrance to the Library grounds is on Cherry Street. The Linda Hall Library is not affiliated with UMKC. Parking in all UMKC lots is by permit or meter. Doors open at 10 a.m.
