A LEGACY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

The Horse in the City
Today
Although the horse is no longer used to operate machinery in cities, much of the leisure to build and invent in the 20th century can be attributed to the freedom from manual labor that the horse was able to provide. In this photo, tourists enjoy a carriage ride in Kansas City. The building in the background shows the Islamic influence in architecture.
