Kansas City, MO %� Scott A. Curtis has recently been named Search Service Coordinator and Reference Librarian at the Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering & Technology. In this position Curtis will be responsible for coordinating all individualized literature searches for library users and for expanding the program. His strong background in physics and engineering management will be a great asset in working with technical professionals and researchers seeking literature searches.
Curtis comes to the library from Thermal Ceramics in Emporia, Kansas where he was Quality/Process Coordinator. Previous experience includes a library practicum at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas, and Pacific Scientific Company, HIAC/ROYCO Division and a Masters in Engineering Management from The George Washington University. He will be receiving a Masters in Library and Information Management from Emporia State University in May.
Linda Hall Library is the largest privately supported public library of science, engineering%, and technology in North America. The library serves users of all ages including individuals, students, faculty, and research staff from academic and research institutions as well as corporations around the world. The library supports local, national, and international inquiry, education, research and development. The Linda Hall Library, created from the estates of Herbert F. and Linda S. Hall, opened in 1946 and is wholly independent of any other institution.

Feb 4 - Head of Document Services Announced

Kansas City, MO � Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering & Technology announces the appointment of Donna Swischer as Head of the Document Services Department. In this position, Ms. Swischer will be responsible for managing all aspects of providing documents to library users around the world and increasing the network of document service users. %
Swischer has been a member of the library staff since 1979 during which time she has held various positions including Reference Librarian and Search Service Coordinator and, most recently, Assistant Head of Reference. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and received her Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Missouri in 2003. She is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and the Special Libraries Association.
