General Questions

1. Which service should I choose LHL DocServ, AIAA Dispatch, Ei Compendex, Ei EnCompass, or CSA Materials and Engineering Document Service?

For most requests you should choose LHL DocServ. If you are requesting an AIAA document, choose AIAA Dispatch.

2. What should I do if I can’t find the item I want in your catalog?

Go ahead and place the request, not all of the Library’s holdings are located in Leonardo, our online catalog. We will let you know if we are unable to fill your request.

3. You say that a Rush request will be received in six working hours, what does this mean?

The working hours for Document Services are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time. This means that a Rush request placed at 3:00 p.m. should be received by noon the next day.

4. Do I have to enter credit card information to request online?

No, you can choose to be invoiced or set up a deposit account.

5. When will I be invoiced for the documents I have requested?

Our Business Office sends out invoices. They bill twice a month, at the middle and the end of the month.

6. What is Ariel?

Ariel is a system that allows documents to be sent via the Internet in tiff format. Only patrons who have Ariel should choose this shipping method.

Online Request Form Questions

1. Why does my request say finished when I have not yet received the document?

Finished means that the request has been updated to found and it is now in the queue to be scanned and sent to you.

2. I forgot my password, what should I do?

Send an email to requests@lindahall.org and we will provide you with this information.

3. How do I know if my request has been successfully submitted?

When you submit a request through our online form, you will be given a transaction number. Only requests that are submitted successfully are given a transaction number. We recommend keeping this number for future reference.

4. How do I resubmit a cancelled request?

Once you have logged on with your user name and password, click on the View/Resubmit Cancelled Request button. Click on the request you want to resubmit, click on the Resubmit Request button, make any changes and resubmit the request.
