Kansas City Invention Convention 2021 winner Kelly Ann Greene, a 2021 graduate of St. Teresa's Academy, received the Market Potential Award in the Global Impact Awards category with her invention “Baby Saver” at the 2021 Invention Convention U.S. Nationals competition on Thursday, June 24, 2021.

The "Baby Saver" prevents infant heatstroke through a proximity sensor that detects temperature, blood oxygen levels, and the infant's pulse. The device also sends a text message that includes the parents' GPS location and alerts emergency responders if the infant is in danger. A news story inspired Kelly Ann's invention. She read about a baby who died tragically after being left in a hot car.

Kelly Ann will represent Kansas City in the Invention Convention 2021 Globals. The results of the global competition will be announced on August 20, 2021.
