Aesthetic Preference for Colors
November 21, 2013
Color preference is an important aspect of human behavior, but little is known about why people like the colors they do. Dr. Stephen Palmer, Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks to provide an answer. He presents an interdisciplinary approach to aesthetic experience in vision using human color preferences as the focus, discussing what colors people prefer, why they prefer them, and how such preferences vary across gender, cultures, and social subcultures.
